Keldan, in cooperation with Viðskiptablaðið, compiles a list for each financial year of the companies that qualify as excellent in operation.

Order certification

What does it take to qualify as excellent?

  • The 2025 and 2024 financial years form the basis, with the 2023 financial year also taken into account.
  • The result must have been positive.
  • Revenue must have exceeded ISK 50 million.
  • Assets must have exceeded ISK 90 million.
  • The equity ratio must have exceeded 20%.
  • Other factors assessed by Viðskiptablaðið and Keldan, for example the filing of annual accounts and the legal form of the company.

Certification for excellent companies

Companies that receive the award can buy a certification, which comes with a printed award certificate that is ideal for framing and displaying somewhere visible in the company's office.

The certification includes, among other things:

  • An award certificate in Icelandic and English
  • A licence to use the mark in promotional material.
  • A list of the excellent companies of 2026 and their key figures.
